What We've Been Working On:
· Welcome! I am very excited about the school year. The kids are a great bunch and it’s only the first week and a half! They have learned a lot of the expectations of the classroom and around the school.
· Language Arts/Reading: We have been working on counting syllables and previewed the alphabet.
· Math: In Math, we have worked on counting and matching (your foot is the same size as ____.)
· I will be sending home a newsletter at the end of each month. It will contain information that we have been working on so you know what we’ve been up to. It will also include the snack calendar for the next month on the back.
· Book Orders are due Friday, September 7th. If you order online, here is the information you will need:

· Please don’t be frustrated if your student has come home with a “yellow” day. This is the beginning of the year and most are learning the school rules for the first time. They are working hard at following them and will get better as the year progresses.
Important Dates to Remember:
September 3rd-No School
September 6-Bus Safety
September 12-Homecomin Pep Assembly
September 13-Katie Cantu--Life Cycle of Butterflies
Special Points of Interest:
J Thank you so much to those of you who stopped by on Back-to-School Night! It was great to see not only the students but to meet their families as well!
J REMINDER: You are not to park and leave your cars during the morning drop off. If you want to walk your child to the playground you must park in a parking lot.
J REMINDER: Please clear out your child’s Take Home Folder every night and send it back to school with them every day!
