Safety City

Safety City is a miniature city with streets, crosswalks, stop signs, traffic signals, and buildings that allows students to experience various traffic situations in a safe and protected manner.  The program teaches kindergarten children how to properly cross the street by remembering three key words, “Stop, Look and Listen” as well as other safety tips. The kiddos had such a fun time--even though we got rained on!  The whole bus ride home they kept chanting, "Stop.  Look.  Listen."  :)

Homecoming Pep Assembly

Happy Homecoming Week!  We are celebrating being Newton Cardinals this week and having a lot of fun with our dress up days.  Monday we wore pajamas, Tuesday we wore sunglasses, and today wore red, white, and blue in remembrance of 9/11.  Tomorrow is wear your favorite sports team (which I know all the kiddos will be wearing Iowa Hawkeye gear of course) and Friday we are supposed to show our Newton pride by wearing red and black.

On Tuesday, we had the cheerleaders and a couple of football players came for a Pep Assembly.  Thank you so much to Heather Ross for scheduling this!  The kids loved it!  Here are some pictures, enjoy! Go Cardinals!
